First Quarter Moon in Scorpio - July 27th 5:33 AM PT// 8:33 AM ET // 7:33 AM CT
The First Quarter Moon, as you may well know, is a time for taking action after getting super, crystal clear on our vision during the New Moon. As the moon progresses towards fullness, issues may come up for you that require adjusting to your plans or taking decisive and inspired action. The First Quarter Moon is when problems with any of your plans should be addressed, and any wrinkles should be ironed out.
This moon cycle, our First Quarter Moon is in the sign of Scorpio. When the moon is in Scorpio, the energy shifts around us to one of mystery, seduction, passion, and deep emotion. Scorpio motivates us to take a deep dive into our darker sides and swim around in the murky waters of our subconscious and soul. With the Moon in Scorpio, we crave deep connections and conversations, and are likely to get annoyed with small talk and anything that feels superficial. Watch your reactions to things, as your words may cut a little deeper than usual.
Unraveling the puzzles of our soul starts to sound like the most fun activity we could possibly engage in! During this Scorpionic period, it’s honestly better to be alone than with someone you’re out of sync with and can’t go deep with. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself annoyed with personal relationships and partners who don’t want to go to the same depths with you. That being said, the Moon in Scorpio can be a deeply intimate and passionate time, so take advantage of this by making time for some sexual exploration, solo or otherwise.
Scorpio gives us the emotional fortitude to really go there, so this is the perfect moment for soul-excavation and deep imaginings. Plus, Scorpio gives us a little bit of a psychic boost, which makes clearing out old stories/negative experiences/the generally unnecessary in our lives much easier, as we can now really see what’s going on.
The Moon in Scorpio reminds us that there’s more to life than meets the eye. It asks us to shine a light on the shadow aspects of our soul and our reality, and to expose what needs to be dealt with. Think societal corruption, moments of abuse or trauma, or simply past events that are keeping you stuck. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover and remember our own power. It puts us in touch with the driving forces of our soul, and those that we engage with outside of ourselves. This is the time to get to the root cause of any suffering we’re experiencing, as Scorpio helps us realize that this is the only way for us to fully heal.
During this moon phase, it would be incredibly beneficial to take some serious alone time to be with your thoughts and emotions, as you may be prone to brooding and deep emotional states. Give yourself the time and space to work through these feelings, as it’s beneficial for your soul growth, and deeply unhealthy to push it away. If you’ve got stuff to work through, now is the time to really go deep and get it out of your system.
Things to do when the moon is in Scorpio:
Scorpio is all about transformation, so don’t be surprised if you go through a couple different life changes this week, or notice some major changes that need to be made in your personal relationships. While these things might feel uncomfortable to deal with, know that anything coming up out of the shadows during this time is ultimately coming up to be healed, not to make your life difficult. Remember to balance all of this deep energetic and emotional work with some serious self-care of the water variety to honor the Scorpionic vibes: bath ritual, anyone?
Other astrological happenings:
This tarot reading helps to identify any lingering doubts that may be holding us back from taking action towards our goals laid out during the New Moon. Enjoy!
Card 1: Your current self-perception
Draw: Three of Swords
The Three of Swords represents loss, heartbreak, shadows coming to light (what’s up Scorpio moon!?), and painful separation. Traditionally this card represents the end of a relationship, but it can also signify the loss of identity, or disintegration of belief or purpose in life. This card marks a painful moment in our lives in one way or another, but these feelings are being brought to the surface for healing. If you find yourself losing something that’s near and dear to your heart, know that this pain will pass. This severing of ties is a necessary part of life, and despite how dark your reality may seem at the moment, your future is waiting for you, brightly lit and glimmering in the distance. Know that this shining bright future will make its way to you BECAUSE of this experience! It’s all part of your path, as much as it sucks to deal with. Right now, you're being called to dig deep and find your inspiration again. Take the necessary time to heal your soul, and lean on trusted others to help support you during this time. This is an opportunity to become stronger and more emotionally resilient. Know that you will find love and inspiration again soon.
Card 2: Your current obstacle
Draw: Nine of Cups
The Nine of Cups represents choosing joy, manifested dreams, gratitude, abundance, and the universe gifting you your desires. This card is often referred to as “The Wish Card” as it typically represents abundance, happiness, and generally getting everything you desire. In this position, though, you’re being asked to evaluate where you’re ignoring the blessings you already have, and continuing to focus on lack. If you continue to focus on lack, you’re making the Universe’s job increasingly difficult to help you manifest your desires. You’re being called to choose thoughts and feelings of joy, bliss, optimism, and abundance as often as possible! These thoughts and feelings will shoot you into your next phase of life like a magical catapult that shoots out rainbows and sunshine! (If you’re rolling your eyes here, there’s a good chance you need this rainbow/sunshine medicine :P) Do your best to work through any heavy or negative emotions, and know that your desires are coming to you. Keep working towards manifesting them, and in the meantime sit back and enjoy the pleasures of life, and do your best to release your tight grip of control on the Universe.
Card 3: What will help you overcome this obstacle
Draw: Six of Wands
The Six of Wand represents badass success, leadership, accomplishments, being fully seen, and straight up victory. This card is calling you to step up and celebrate your accomplishments, like, right now. You’ve created amazing success for yourself, yet maybe you’ve been reluctant to acknowledge it. Now is the time to celebrate your wins! Stop what you’re doing and throw yourself a party! Give yourself permission to slow down and appreciate all the progress you’ve made so far. Taking time to witness your own radiance and awesomeness is just as important as hustling and making major moves in your life and/or business. Additionally, as you celebrate your successes, people may start coming to you for advice. Share your wisdom and brilliance with them, and don’t shy away from public attention. Shine your light brightly for all to see! This card is also a warning to stop craving external validation. Remember that YOU define your own success, and no one else in the whole world can do what you do, in the way that you do it. Work to impress yourself, and let others' opinions of you fall away!
Card 4: what’s currently holding you back and what needs to be released
Justice represents balance, karma, truth, wisdom, fairness, integrity, perspective, and accountability. Lady Justice visits us again, as she was present for our last reading during the New Moon. This card urges us to take stock of our experiences and see what moments can be reframed as lessons. You’re being asked to learn from your mistakes, and to choose differently next time you're presented with the same situation. Remember, this is not about perfection, it’s about being realistic with yourself and setting achievable goals to improve how you show up and interact with the world. Evaluate the motivations behind your thoughts and actions, and seek clarity around your purpose in life. Are you living up to it? Are you functioning in your life in the highest way possible for you right now, or have you slipped into a slightly less than stellar version of yourself? You’re being called to find balance in your life between your light and your darkness, and come to terms with aspects of yourself that you maybe dislike, or would like to change. Release any guilt around being perfect, or making mistakes in the past. Now that you know better, you can do better. Make amends when necessary,(even if this means making amends to yourself) and move forward with a clear conscience.
Card 5: Affirmation/Energy for the First Quarter Moon
Draw: The Fool
Affirmation: I welcome new adventures into my life with open arms, and I know that I am deeply supported by the universe every step of the way.
The Fool represents new beginnings, potential, adventure, enthusiasm, awakening, innocence, and optimism. This card calls you to embrace your thoughts of achieving something “bigger” and “better” and pushes you to just go for it! The energy of this card is super optimistic, and it’s telling you that you CAN achieve whatever it is that you’re dreaming about. This feeling of childlike optimism sits deep inside of you, and you have the ability to tap into it whenever you want. Every journey begins with a single step, and the Universe is telling you that now is the perfect time for a leap of faith. The net WILL appear, and you will be supported on this journey by the Universe. You may not feel totally ready, and you may not even actually be ready, but the Universe is tapping the face of it’s watch telling you that the time is NOW! Don’t miss the window of opportunity! Look to the future with enthusiasm, and follow the Universal breadcrumbs on your path! There’s magic in the air all around you, so lean into this beautiful moment of new beginnings <3
Affirmation: I welcome new adventures into my life with open arms, and I know that I am deeply supported by the universe every step of the way.

Full Moon in Pisces - Sept 1-2, 2020 10:23 PM PT // 12:23 AM CT // 1:23 AM ET
This Full Moon, as we know, is a time of celebration, reflection, and completion. It's a time for self-love and appreciation. It's a moment of gratitude for all of the things we've been given, have earned, and have worked hard to create since the New Moon. The Full Moon helps illuminate the truth in our lives, expand our ways of thinking, and clear any remaining fog on our path.
This cycle, our Full Moon is in the sign of Pisces. The Sun and Moon oppose one another at the full moon, so we're looking at a Virgo vs. Pisces opposition. Finite, concrete reality vs. Infinite, intuitive ether. The energy of Pisces may have us in a dark, murky, and emotional headspace (stuck in ALL the feels,) but thankfully the practical energy of Virgo should help us to stay grounded in reality, even if it feels like we have to fight to keep our grasp on logical thinking.
Pisces has come to remind us to consider our spiritual and emotional states. If they've been left by the wayside recently, this is your opportunity to release any negative habits around your spiritual and emotional hygiene practices (or lack thereof!) We're being called to find balance in our lives right now between the energies of Virgo and Pisces. This means finding ways to identify and express your spiritual/emotional needs while maintaining order and progress in your everyday lives. If one of these energies is unbalanced in your lives, you'll know it when you see it: it's either excessive orderliness or chaos.

Each lunar cycle, we're reborn. We have a fantastic opportunity to align with our intentions during the New Moon and integrate our experiences from the last cycle into our lives. This work rejuvenates our souls, so we are ready to dive back in with the beginning of a new cycle. We're called to consciously clear away any obstructions to our dreams, get clear on our intentions, and ask for divine assistance in making them a reality. This time is incredibly meditative and introspective. It's the perfect time of the lunar cycle to journal, meditate, create art, and connect with your inner and spiritual self. It is also an excellent time to release ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and ways of being that no longer serve us on our path.
This New Moon is in the sign of Leo. When the Moon is in Leo, it's an excellent time to focus on goals and intentions that mesh well with Leo's energy. For example, it's an amazing time to concentrate on ways to enhance our hobbies and creative endeavors, spice up our romantic lives, and maybe most importantly, focusing on building up our self-confidence and developing a healthy sense of pride in ourselves. This New Moon is the perfect time for indulging in Leo Season's energy by giving yourself the royal treatment re: self-care. Additionally, focusing on any passion projects you've yet to start will honor Leo's energy during this moon cycle. Leo aims to teach us the importance of assuming responsibility in our lives, giving of ourselves generously to others, and taking pride in our souls' uniqueness.
This New Moon is the perfect time to meditate upon Leo energy, and how it shows up in your life. Leo is an incredibly expressive fire sign, which can be described as proud, generous, warm, authoritative, caring, noble, and open to life. Where in your life can you start to cultivate these energies more fully? How could you improve your life by incorporating some of these things into your personality? When setting your intentions for this New Moon, take into consideration the lessons of this sign. Leo energy calls you to improve in these areas, to express your inner-child, and express yourself creatively without shame or restriction.

Last Quarter Moon in Taurus August 11, 2020 9:47 AM PT // 11:47 AM CT // 12:47 PM ET
The Last Quarter Moon is the final stage of the lunar cycle. The intentions you set during the New Moon are completing their journey, and making their way into your reality. This time is all about transition, reorientation, and completion. It's the best time in the Moon Cycle to take closing action, follow-up, and complete all the activities that began at the New Moon phase. This is also a time to release, surrender, and reflect on all you have learned from this lunar cycle.
During the Waning Phase, this is a good time to find significance and deeper meaning in your life experiences, as this is a deeply reflective moment of the lunar cycle. This is the perfect time to go inward and discover what the Moon has been showing you over the course of this cycle. Some questions you can ask yourself are:
This Last Quarter Moon is in the sign of Taurus. When the Moon is in Taurus, we want to really be in our bodies, and enjoy every sensation of our five senses. This sign brings out our capacity to really enjoy our lives on earth instead of yearning for some other heavenly plane of existence! This is the time to really make yourself comfortable and cozy, listen to some beautiful music, enjoy some delicious food, and move your body in a way that feels really, really good. Or, if you’re feeling truly exhausted, take a really long, luxurious nap! Anything you can do to please the senses during this time will be beneficial to your being. Also, Taurus is known as the “slow mover” of the zodiac, so honor this sign by really savoring every delicious moment of existence during this moon.
